Trip around the world with 9 patches.
I took a quilting class at a local sewing store. I was directed
to make a certain number of 9 patches and charms. I hadn't finished making
them by the time the class ended, so finished them at home -- eventually.
I found the count given to me wouldn't make the quilt I'd selected, and
so began fiddling with what I had. I added some more fabrics and played
some more, eventually ending up with this layout, only because it
was pretty and symmetrical. At that time, I knew nothing about a
quilt pattern called Trip Around the World. I also didn't know most
quilters frown about mixing different fabrics. The green fabric is
flannel and the backing is a polyester mix. Oh, well. Live and learn.
